hello guys and girls!
if anyone ever wonder where i've disappeared to,
if anyone ever notice,
i've been to work for this company named edgemedia.
thats why i haven been to school on monday.
im gonna miss tuesday as well~
cant believe im actually missing lessons and tutorials!
feel kinda guilty too.
but well, for that extra cash!
this is how the whole story went:
on one num rehearsal (cant rem which one), i received a phone call from someone named alicia who's from edgemedia.
i have no idea how she got my number and all that but i think she mentioned something about road survey and imodel.
and then she offered me this 2-days job which pays $10/hour.
and so i'm supposed to send in my photos to apply for that job as they need pleasant looking people.
motivated by the pay rate and so i did.
2 days later she called to tell me i've been selected for the job.
so i went down for the briefing at bugis.
the thing is they already confirm the timing and everything with me and its like i'm obliged to agree to the job.
at that time i didn't realise what shit i've put myself into of course!
now comes the first and second last day of work,
16th july 2007:
the job scope, visit different places, eg. toa payoh hub, ang mo kio hub, suburban area shops/stores and offer them to place a listing with us in this to-be-launched online-shopping-directory; TOWNSG.
we're supposed to tell them its free for the first month but subsequent month they'll have to pay a fee of $30/month. and besides that, we are to encourage them to place advertisement with us like a short introduction of their shop and their shop logo etc.
the target is to close 10 such "payable" deals.
and if we managed to hit the target, incentives will be given to us.
BUT the thing is that in one day, 8 hours, we're supposed to cover "a few" areas like AMK, Khatib, Sembawang, Yishun, CCK and BukitBatok!
and NO reimbursement of the transportation fees incurred!
we need to take at least 10 photographs of the different shops in each area featuring US and the SHOP ASSISTANT/S.
the photos will be send for an online contest whereby winner shop will earn free advertising space and winner girl will be entitled to 1 pair of tickets to hong kong and get to be 3 months cover girl of the TOWNSG online magazine!
BUT, we didnt managed to get any photos at all cause we went individually into the shops and aint it weird if someone enter the shop and ask to take a pic with the sales assistant?!
so its all wasted la.
the 10bucks dun come easy at all, we walk through the neighbourhood under the glaring sun, got weird stares and irritated tone from the shop keepers, tikko peks with big belly and yellow teeth salivating at you...
and its not helping at all to the fact that they require us to wear white bottom and sneakers so im like so totally mis-matched!
and that "uniform" which is a pink V-neck top from BALENO couldn't get any uglier! =(
such a shitty job!
i swear its the 1st and last time!
too bad i cant back out for tomorrow cause its totally irresponsible to do so!
shall keep the $160 (++) running through my head as a motivation for tomorrow!
met this girl named irene (tan) studyin in NUS final year.
she's quite pretty. (i love her nose!)
she told me im the only girl she talks to at edgemedia and that she don't usually like to meet new people~
i like to be liked! =D
so i've made a new friend today~ haha
tomorrow's not travelling with her though!
with another girl named lynn.
let's hope she's nice to me!
and may tomorrow be gone faster!
i'm already missing school.
and my friends ... =(
